11th Inter- Training Collegiate Athletic Meet
11th Inter-Training Collegiate Athletic Meet was conducted on 9th March 2019 at Nehru Stadium, Kottayam with an active participation of 18 training colleges under Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. Ms. Eesha Priya IAS, Sub collector of Kottayam inaugurated the meet. Sri. P.J. Varghese, Chairman, Kerala State Development Corporation for Christian Converts from Scheduled Caste and Rev. Fr. James Mullassery CMI, Educational Councillor, St. Joseph’s Province, Thiruvanthapuram, & Principal, K.E. English Medium School, Mannanam distributed the trophies and prizes to the winners. John Paul Memorial B.Ed. College, Labbakkada won the Overall Championship and CPAS CTE, Kumily won the Runners-up trophy. CPAS CTE Kumily won the Everrolling Trophy for the Women’s Champion Team and Sree Narayana College of Education, Moovattupuzha won the Everrolling Trophy for the Men’s Champion Team. Aswathy Zacharia of St. John the Baptists College of Education, Nedumkunnam was the individual champion among women and Gokulnath Y. of John Paul Memorial B.Ed. College, Labbakkada was the individual champion among men.
10th Inter- Training Collegiate Athletic Meet
The Tenth Inter-Training Collegiate Athletic Meet, initiated since our Golden Jubilee Year, 2007 continues as a flagship event of the institution. The 10th Inter Training Collegiate Athletic Meet was organized by St. Joseph’s Training College, Mannanam on 7th January 2017 at Nehru Stadium, Kottayam with the enthusiastic participation of various teacher education institutions affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. After a colourful march past, Hon. Pro Vice-chancellor Dr. Sheena Shukkur inaugurated the meet. Our Administrator Rev. Fr. (Dr.) Thomas Pemala CMI presided the opening ceremony. Dr. Binu George Varghese, Director, School of Physical Education, MG University felicitated this function. Participants from around 25 teacher training institutions took part in the event with true sportsmanship. At the end of a day of zealous competitions, the meet came to an end with the prize distribution ceremony. Shri. Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan MLA, Dr. P.R. Sona, Municipal Chairperson, Kottayam and Rev. Fr. James Mullassery CMI, Councillor for Education and Communication, CMI St. Joseph’s Province, Thiruvananthapuram distributed the trophies and prizes to the winners.
Mahatma Gandhi University College of Teacher Education Kumily won the overall championship and Titus II Teachers Training College, Thiruvalla won the Runners-up trophy.
Tinto Tom of St. Joseph’s Training College, Mannanam and Noble V. of Adi Sankara College of Teacher Education, Kalady shared the Individual championships in the Men categories. Anju Joy of St. John’s the Baptist College of Teacher Education, Nedumkunnam was the individual champion in women category.
In the colourful March Past competition, the first prize was bagged by M.G. University College of Teacher Education, Kumily and second prize was secured by Titus II Teachers College, Thiruvalla and third prize was secured by St. Joseph’s Training College, Mannanam.

After a colourful march past, Shri. Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, Hon’ble Minister for Sports, Transport & Forest, inaugurated the meet. Our Manager Rev. Fr. Sebastian Chamathara CMI presided the opening ceremony. Participants from around 30 teacher training institutions took part in the event with true sportsmanship. At the end of a day of zealous competitions, the meet came to an end with the prize distribution ceremony. Shri. K.R.G. Varier, Municipal Chairman, Kottayam and Rev. Fr. James Mullassery CMI, Principal, K.E. English Medium School, Mannanam distributed the trophies and prizes to the winners. M.G. University College of Teacher Education, Nedumkandam won the overall championship and St. Joseph’s Training College, Mannanam and St. Thomas College of Teacher Education, Mylacombu, Thodupuzha shared the Runners-up trophy. Overall championships in the Men & Women category were won by St. Joseph’s Training College, Mannanam & M.G. University College of Teacher Education, Nedumkandam respectively. Noble Mathew of St. Joseph’s Training College, Mannanam and Anju Joseph of M.G. University College of Teacher Education, Nedumkandam bagged the Individual championships in the Men and Women categories. In the colourful March Past competition, the first prize was bagged by M.G. Inter-training Collegiate Athletic Meet
The 8th Inter Training Collegiate Athletic Meet was organized by St. Joseph’s Training College, Mannanam on 16th February 2014 at Nehru Stadium, Kottayam. The opening ceremony started at 9 a.m. with a colourful march past. Thirty five colleges, affiliated to M.G. University participated in the meet. The meet started with the welcome speech by Dr. Varghese K. Cheriyan, our Principal., Mr. V. Ajith IPS, Superintendent of Police, Kottayam inaugurated the meet. Rev. Dr. Antony Edanad CMI hoisted the flag. Rev. Dr. Sibichen Kalarickal lighting the lamp. Dr. Binu George Varghese, Asst. Director of Physical Education, Mahatma Gandhi Univeristy, Kottaym and Rev. Dr. Thomas Pemala felicitated the ceremony. , the General Captain Mr. Melbin Mathew took the oath for the athletes and Mr. Anto P. Cheerotha, College Union Chairman, proposed the vote of thanks.
The closing ceremonay began with the welcome speech by Dr. K. M. Benny, Asst. Professor. The sports meet came to an end at 4.30 p.m. Sri. M.P. Santhosh Kumar, Municipal Chairman, Kottayam, distributed the trophies and prizes to the winners. Fr. (Dr.) K. M. Rajan, Mr. Sajeesh P. Thampi, Municipal Councilor Dr. Tessy Joseh, Asst. Professor proposed the vote of thanks.

Men’s overall champion : Titus II Teacher Education College, Thiruvalla. Women’s overall champion: St. Joseph’s Training College, Mannanam.
