SUPW

The concept of SUPW in education is one of the recent concepts in Indian Education. It has been developed out of Mahatma Gandhi’s Work Centered Education having practical utility in the society.

The various items included for SUPW were book binding ( 80 pages and 200 pages book), Interior decoration, Embroidery work, Cooking and Campus Beautification. It was conducted as an intensive programme every year. Students were grouped into five groups for the work. They take turns to engage in the various activities under the guidance of the concerned teachers. Materials and equipments required for the activities are provided in common to the students from the institution.

The activities acquaint students with the inherent dignity of the all the kinds of labour. It also helps to develop a feeling of social concern among the students. As an opportunity of creative self expression, it also helps students to develop mental well- being.
