    Candidates under merit list are requested to report at the college for interview on 17.07.2017 at 10.00 a.m.

    The following documents in original should be produced by the candidates at the time of interview

    (1) Transfer Certificate (2) Conduct Certificate (3) SSLC or equivalent certificate (4) Mark list of all parts of degree examinations and PG examinations wherever applicable and Degree/Provisional certificate(s). (5) Certificate to prove nativity. (copy of the SSLC or any other relevant document) (6) Certificate obtained recently in support of claim for communal reservation (if applicable.) (7) Certificate in support of special reservation if applicable. (Sports/PWD) (8) Eligibility Certificate from MG University in case of candidates who have passed their qualifying examination (UG & PG) from other universities outside the state. (9) Migration Certificate (for candidates passed their qualifying examinations from universities other than M.G.) (10) NSS/NCC Certificate at degree level (if applicable). (11) Certificate in support of Ex-service category claim obtained not earlier than six months (if applicable). (12) Passport size photograph – 5 Nos. (13) Self addressed stamped (Rs.5) envelopes – 2 Nos.

The College was established in 1957 as a Christian minority institution to train teachers for secondary schools. It was then affiliated to Kerala University and since 1983 to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. It is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education and is re-accredited by the National Assessment & Accreditation council.

Since 1986, the college is functioning as a co-educational institution. It offers one-year teacher education course leading to the Degree of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in five optional subjects, viz., English, Mathematics, Natural Science, Physical Science and Social Science. The college was elevated to the status of Post-graduate college offering M.Ed. course in 2005.  The Diploma in Teacher Education (D.Ed.) is offered in the St. Joseph’s Teacher Training Institute attached to this college since 2005.

The college has a vast campus spread over 12 acres and 57 cents of land with adequate facilities and resources for various educational programme, administrative functions and extension services. The institution has spacious classrooms, fully equipped science, technology, psychology and   computer laboratories, biology museum, guidance and counseling centre, seminar hall, auditoriums, well arranged library, rest rooms, research consultancy centre, work experience and activity room to meet the requirements of M.Ed. B.Ed. and D.Ed.
