B.Ed. Admission 2017-19

    Candidates under merit list are requested to report at the college for interview on 17.07.2017 at 10.00 a.m.

    The following documents in original should be produced by the candidates at the time of interview

    (1) Transfer Certificate (2) Conduct Certificate (3) SSLC or equivalent certificate (4) Mark list of all parts of degree examinations and PG examinations wherever applicable and Degree/Provisional certificate(s). (5) Certificate to prove nativity. (copy of the SSLC or any other relevant document) (6) Certificate obtained recently in support of claim for communal reservation (if applicable.) (7) Certificate in support of special reservation if applicable. (Sports/PWD) (8) Eligibility Certificate from MG University in case of candidates who have passed their qualifying examination (UG & PG) from other universities outside the state. (9) Migration Certificate (for candidates passed their qualifying examinations from universities other than M.G.) (10) NSS/NCC Certificate at degree level (if applicable). (11) Certificate in support of Ex-service category claim obtained not earlier than six months (if applicable). (12) Passport size photograph – 5 Nos. (13) Self addressed stamped (Rs.5) envelopes – 2 Nos.






Admission Procedures – B.Ed.

The admission to B.Ed. course is through a centralized allotment process done by the commission of the Government of Kerala.  The merit of the candidates will be decided on the basis of the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.  The management seats (15% of total intake of 50 students) will be filled by the management.



The minimum % of marks for admission is 50% in Bachelor’s Degree (Science/Arts subjects). The applicants who have secured 50% in the part III (main & subsidiary together) are eligible for admission. For B.Ed. English optional, B.A. degree with English language and Literature/ functional English/ B.A. Communicative English with 50% marks in aggregate are eligible. Applicants having B.A./ B.Sc. Degree with 50% of marks for Part I English and not less than 50% marks for Masters Degree in English language and literature are also eligible.  Relaxation in marks for reservation category will be as given in the prospectus. Candidates should report to the college office with the following documents in original

  • The Allotment Memo received online.
  • Receipt of fee remitted in the bank.
  • Certificate to prove date of birth – SSLC Book.
  • Transfer Certificate (TC) and Conduct Certificate from the Institution last attended.
  • Marklist of the qualifying examination (Higher Secondary or equivalent) and the Pass certificate (if applicable).
  • Marklists of all parts of BA/B.Sc., MA/M.Sc. Degree examinations and Degree Certificates (if applicable).
  • Eligibility Certificate from any University in Kerala, in case of candidates who have passed a qualifying examination from other Universities outside state.
  • Migration Certificate, if applicable.
  • Any other documents required to be produced by the Head of Institution such as certificate to prove SC/ST/OBC, Community, Income, etc.
  • Three passport size photos.
  • Two self-addressed stamped envelopes.
  • Take sufficient number of photocopies of the certificates before you submit those to the college office.

M.Ed. Degree Course – Admission Procedure

M.Ed. Degree course (two-semester) offered in this college is affiliated to M.G. University. The total intake is 35. The eligibility for admission is B.Ed. degree with not less than 55% marks. The rank list for M.Ed. course will be prepared by giving weightage for marks secured in the qualifying examination (B.Ed.), marks for P.G. and teaching experience.

All candidates seeking admission to M.Ed. course either in the open quota or in the management quota will have to appear for the entrance examination positively.  The Entrance Examination will consist of one paper of one hour duration and consisting of 100 objective-type questions.  Each correct answer will be awarded 0.5 mark and 0.25 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response.

Degree course.  The application form can also be downloaded from the website of the university www.mguniversity.edu.  Fee structure and the nature of reservation quota will be subject to the decision/policy of the Government/University at the time of selection.
